A northern Piedmont gem, bringing balance and softness to Nebbiolo from Alto Piemonte.
I’m a very famous grape in northern Piedmont, not to be confused with Croatina. I’m often used to blend with Nebbiolo wines from this area.
Let me introduce myself: my berries are small and bluish-black in color.
Where do I thrive? You can find me in Piedmont: my name says it all!
Here I give my best: I give my best in the Province of Turin, particularly in Chieri, Pinerolo, Valsusa, and Canavese.

Where do I shine? You can find me in 8 DOC.
My signature wine
Canavese DOC, Collina Torinese DOC, Coste della Sesia DOC, Pinerolese DOC.
Did you know? Be careful not to confuse me with others! Croatina (also called Bonarda in other districts) is another grape.
I blend well with other grapes, adding color and sugar to the mix! I’m often used to soften high acidity and tannins.
