Sweet by name, but not by nature my wines are always dry!
Do I seem like a sweet type? Dolcetto may sound like “little sweet one” in Italian, and while my berries are indeed sweet, don’t be fooled—my wines are always dry! This confusion often happens because my name refers to the grape’s natural sweetness, not the wine itself.
Let me introduce myself: my berries are bluish-black with very sweet pulp.
Where do I thrive? You’ll find me mainly in Piedmont, but I’m also present in Liguria, where they call me “Ormeasco.”
Here I give my best: I give my best in the Langhe, especially in Diano d’Alba and Dogliani, and in the Monferrato area, including Ovada and Acqui Terme.

Where do I shine? You can find me in 3 DOCG, 12 DOC, and 48 IGT.
