Fit for a king, loved by all. The Queen was jealous of me.
King Vittorio Emanuele II chose me as his ‘favorite’ grape, and that’s how I got my name. But maybe it’s just a legend—in Italian, ‘Favoriti’ also refers to the mustache the King was famous for.
Let me introduce myself: my berries are medium-sized and greenish-yellow, turning golden yellow or amber as they ripen.
Where do I thrive? I’m cultivated in Piedmont and other Italian regions like Liguria, Tuscany, and Sardinia.
Here I give my best: I give my best in the Roero area, Alessandria, and Valle Belbo.

Where do I shine? You can find me in 3 DOC.
My signature wine
Colli Tortonesi DOC Favorita, Langhe DOC Favorita, Piemonte DOC Favorita.
Did you know? Be careful! In Liguria, I’m called Pigato, but sometimes I’m also mistaken for Vermentino, as in Sardinia and Tuscany.
