I’m the proud of Colli Tortonesi. The heart of this hilly region is Tortona, whose ancient Roman name was Derthona. Walter Massa, a visionary winemaker, decided to call me by this historic name to honor my roots. But here’s the best part: he didn’t keep it for himself. Instead, he invited all the local producers to use Derthona, uniting us under one name to make me shine on the global stage. Now, Derthona is set to be officially recognized in the production guidelines.

Where do I thrive? You can find me in Piedmont, in the Province of Alessandria and in Lombardy, in the Oltrepò Pavese wine district.
